Firstly, you have to click where it says "register" above. Then set up a username and password. make a note of these as you will need them to log in each time you want to post a message in the future.
so on following visits click on "log in" type in your user name and password, then click on the board you want to post a message in and then click on either "new thread" this will start a new subject on the board. "reply to message" will continue a discussion.

I have chosen my user name as 'upopular' because I know that many of you who live in Banwell are so very much in favour of a by-pass for the village. Well, I have to say that I am very much AGAINST a bypass. I live in Sandford, and travel through Banwell almost daily. Obviously I get as angry and frustrated as you do at the heavy traffic queues and traffic fumes. I am completely on your side as far as that goes - only I don't feel that a Bypass is fair to us in Sandford! The traffic will of course be redirected away from Banwell, but taken directly into our Village!! You lose your problem but have only succeeded in passing your problems one village down the line!!! Very unfair I think! I would of course be in favour of a bypass that took traffic away from all of the small villages on this route! Sandford doesn't want any more traffic, nor does Churchill or Langford. I have no idea what the 'right' answer is - perhaps we could start with downgrading the roads to stop (non-local) HGV's using them. I also think that the latest traffic calming methods in Banwell are ridiculous! The hump outside the school is ridulously high, as are the small humps on the road to Sandford. I understand that the idea is to put people off travelling this route, but it's the people who use it to get to and from their homes that are the only ones who are being penalised. Quote:

I am slightly confused. Where does the traffic go after it has passed through Banwell at the moment. I assume it passes through Sandford at the moment?
HGV restriction is not an option on a part of the primary route network that does not have an alternative route. This fact, much to the regret of all villagers, will not change until an alternative route is built.
Neither will traffic lights, etc. After much activity it is clear that the choice is more tarmac or doing nothing.
Raf Locking, Phase one of Weston visioning, 50% industrial, we are making our move now! I would urge you to do the same. Certainly a dual carriageway into South Bristol would give us the alternative route we need, but be aware that the route may be a bit close for comfort.
